CAPCO was founded in 1976 to produce the Purified Terephthalic Acid (PTA), a key raw material for manufacturing polyester fiber and chips with a wide range of applications in our daily lives. CAPCO, a joint venture between INEOS (61.43% ownership) and CPC Taiwan (38.57% ownership), has a registered capital of NT$6.88 billion.

CAPCO’s Taichung plant, located at Taichung Harbor in Wu Chi, Taichung City of central Taiwan, has an annual PTA production capacity of 760,000 tons.
